Black History Month in February the NFBVN in conjunction with the NAACP Philadelphia Branch
Our Theme is: Black History “365”
Past, Present, Future
Special guest is the great-great-grandson of Frederick Douglass: Kevin Douglass Greene. The NFBVN Victory Crown award will be presented to Kevin Douglass Greene for his 20 years of military service and his continued service to keep the rich history of his family legacy alive by informing the youth around the country. Also, a question and answer youth session with Kevin Douglass Greene will take place and a limited amount of signed books will be distributed to the youth in attendance. (While supplies last) We will have a Black History Exhibit that will be displayed by two local residents, Denise Davis and Marlene Evans. We will also have a story quilt display designer: Ra’sheeda Bey, who currently has her quilts displayed in City Hall.
